Snow Geese

Every year we have the enjoyment of watching the Snow Geese in their northern flight ...
Picture taken on February 14, 2009 (front~Canadian Geese - back~ Snow Geese)
Greater snow geese migrate north to the eastern arctic region in spring. Their flyway population is 800,000 and growing by about nine percent annually. Waterfowl biologists are concerned the birds may exceed the carrying capacity of their breeding grounds in the near future without some sort of intervention. The birds are already overtaxing the food sources of their winter range in and around coastal marshes from New Jersey to North Carolina. ~ full story here ~Game Commission ~
Here is a picture of the Snow Geese in flight.

What do you want to do tonight?

Remove starfish from our live rock….?

This is us removing the starfish infested rocks.

Helping to find those little starfish.

There’s one…Closer view~

Here’s a pic. Of the starfish we flicked in the sink~
Close up view~

When you have a saltwater tank one of the things you try to encourage is the growth of coralline algae. (The purple color on the live rock.) …but the starfish decided to eat the beautiful purple coralline only to leave behind these white spots. Yea, now we have a speckled live rock (not cool!)

Closer View~

Found another one… So after 3 hours of fishing for starfish from live rock we set the rocks back in the tank.
Observing… only to see another starfish!…oh and there’s another~ Using tweezers we pulled 14 more of those pest… starfish that are speckling our coralline algae… As we all know it only takes two to make a colony. So now that we know they are in there ~ destroying our purple coralline… We will be keeping an eye on our rock…for no starfish seen will be left to roam again!

Creed~ "Inside Us All"

There's a peace inside us all....it will help you carry on~~

When I'm all alone
And no one else is there
Waiting by the phone
To remind me
Im still here
When shadows paint the scenes
Where spotlights used to fall
And I'm left wondering
Is it really worth it all?
There's a peace inside us all
Let it be your friend
It will help you carry on in the end
There's a peace inside us all
Life can hold you down
When you're not looking up
Can't you hear the sound?
Hearts beating out loud
Although the names change
Inside were all the same
Why can't we tear down these walls?
To show the scars were covering
There's a peace
There's a peace inside us all
Let it be oh, can't it be your friend?

What's This Life For?

Sometimes this song makes me question why...

~ at times we live like we need to settle the score with God.
... that is what Jesus' life did for us,
remember to accept this gift
as we celebrate Jesus' life~

Hurray for a child
That makes it through
If there's anyway
Because the answer lies in you
They're laid to rest
Before they know just what to do
Their souls are lost
Because they
could never find
What's this life for
What's this life for
What's this life for
I see your soul, its kinda grey
You see my heart, you look away
You see my wrist, I know your pain
I know your purpose on your plane
Don't say a last prayer
Because you could never find
What's this life for
What's this life for
What's this life for
What's this life for
But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle the score
Cause we all live
Under the reign of one king
But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle no damn score
cause we all live under the
Reign I said we live under
One king
One king
One king
But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle no god damn score
cause we all live
under the reign
I said we live under
One king
One king
One king
But they ain't here anymore
Don't have to settle no god damn score
cause we all live under the reign of of one king

touch of sadness

Another touch of sadness for you
Gee, did we think this could be true
So as we thought Coco was a boy
Apparently he is a girl
For he-she gave birth to several young ones
Yet you found them to have died.

As I searched information, I found this~
A female's first litter is very small.
A certain percentage of females die giving birth.
Abortions and stillbirths are not uncommon with guinea
pigs, and females are not overly maternal in caring for their
young.

(Great)

So yes, life can bring things our way
What can I say
But as you walk on through
Know His strength to be true.

~Our Stone Tavern~

Through this door is what we decorated as
Our Stone Tavern~
The view through the window of the door....
Should of had a better mega-pixels.

View through the open door.

We feel Blessed

We were blessed with trim boards.
So I painted them for the top of this cupboard.
Then with my nephew's skills of putting the trim together.
We are enjoying the beautiful finished work.
Thank You!

Also we have been given these Boston Ferns.
I love having ferns on my back porch over the summer...
Finding a place for these ferns in our sunroom took some time~
For this room is like putting together a puzzle.

Our Latest Finds~

This is an add from back in the day~
for the bookcase we found.

Another find is this old trunk...
a much needed find to hold my pictures which are in a cardboard box in the attic in extreme hot and cold temps...
So this will make for a better place to store them.

Our Morning In A Junkyard

This morning we went to the junkyard
It was kind of a nice reflection of earlier years
for we spent many a Saturday
Walking through junkyards
Looking to get parts to design
Our Futura Falcon ~ our hotrod from back in the day
Yet…
I think junkyards are creepy
It’s like you are in a graveyard
Of dead bodies (the cars no longer able to work)
As you are among these dead bodies
Your looking for a body to match your body
While seeing many different lives these bodies have lived
Like one which didn’t have a door anymore
Had some toys on the floor from a young child
Or another had some papers, and some pennies on the floor.
In some you see the aftermath of a wreck
One just took my mind for awhile
For this one was smashed in from the front
And smashed in from behind
And I had to wonder
did that body experience a human body dying inside
I had to take a look inside and just imagine… could of anyone possibly survived…
…if anyone did survive ~
what kind of a miracle must of took place
This particular body….
which took my mind for awhile
Happened to be right aside of the one
we had to operate on for 1 ½ hours
to get our
needed part from its body…
As I said being in a junkyard~
~it is like you are in a graveyard
Of dead bodies which
haven’t been buried
And you are looking through the organ donors
To find the part you need for your body
While wondering what kind of experiences
these bodies must have gone through.
Just Creepy to me….

We Love You

We bought a guinea pig today
It is another way to say
How much we deeply care about you
In this time of feeling so blue

The extreme sad moments of today
are because of all of your loving ways
your devotion and care
Was a blessing we all shared.

So the memory of Ally
We keep close to our hearts
We are so sorry…
you two had to part.

So as you hold Coco Butters
Remember he is another
like Ally, for he is a relative.
So take and give
All the love you have to offer

We Love You!
